David F. Lyons, Sr. is the founder of Lyons Companies, Delaware's largest
privately held insurance brokerage and risk management firm. Headquartered in
Wilmington, Delaware, Lyons Companies is recognized as one of the fastest
growing companies in the mid-Atlantic region with additional offices in Radnor,
Pennsylvania, Bethesda, Maryland and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
David Lyons began his career in the insurance industry in Washington D.C. at a
privately owned insurance agency. A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College
and native Delawarean, he returned to Wilmington in 1984 to start his own firm,
Lyons Insurance Agency, Inc.
The company's name was changed to Lyons Companies in 2004 to better reflect its growth and expansion
into diverse insurance and risk management businesses.
In 2006, Mr. Lyons received the "Marvin A. Gilman Superstar in Business Award" from the Delaware
State Chamber of Commerce for outstanding achievement and model approaches to
business and management.
Mr. Lyons is active in the community, serving as Director on several Boards and Executive Committees
including the Delaware Business Roundtable, American Red Cross, Artisans' Bank, Tatnall School, and Delaware Tennis Foundation. He was formerly Co-chairman of
the Young Alexis de Tocqueville Society and remains active with the United Way.
Mr. Lyons serves on the board of the Delaware Council for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship
and addresses students and educators on matters of business and entrepreneurship
at the Lerner School of Business at the University of Delaware.

 Daniel J. McCutcheon

A graduate of LaSalle University, Dan McCutcheon has more than 25 years of senior management brokerage experience with Marsh & McLennan, Johnson & Higgins, Alexander & Alexander and Aon Group, Inc.
Dan was the managing director of Alexander & Alexander’s (Aon Group, Inc.) Philadelphia and New York offices. He held several senior management positions at Alexander & Alexander including: National Director of New Product Development, Managing Director of the Risk Marketing Center and Managing Director of Strategic Account Management, where he was responsible for coordinating worldwide profit center activities on major accounts.
Dan joined Lyons in 2003 and is responsible for day-to-day management of the company.
